The NRA
TARGO is the answer to address the NRA. It is clear that the NRA has shifted from its original purpose from protecting the rights of American citizens to own guns, to an undying allegiance to the gun manufacturers and the profit they seek over the lives that are lost to needless gun violence. Although the National Rifle Association grows increasingly out of touch with most American gun owners, the organization still claims “more than five million members.”
However, the financial strength of the organization does not just come from the average individual membership. The majority of the NRA’s money and support is directly coming from gun manufacturers. Estimates show that gun corporations have donated anywhere between $20 million and $52.8 million to NRA activities. The NRA has prioritized profits over the safety of the American people and TARGO vows to stop it through the same means that the NRA has used to cause the problems. TARGO works for responsible gun ownership, not the gun industry.

“The National Rifle Association musters its considerable wealth and organizational strength to promote gun ownership and incite gun owners to acts of violence. The NRA spreads propaganda that misinforms and aims to deceive the public about the dangers of gun violence. The leadership of the NRA promotes extremist positions, in defiance of the views of the majority of its membership and the public and undermine the general welfare. The National Rifle Association through its advocacy has armed those individuals who would and have committed acts of terrorism.” -San Francisco Resolution
